      @jasonmesut @andybudd @nathanacurtis @clearleft Yeah, key word there is public. I worked on a large scale design system for One2One (remember them!?) in 99/00. Even at the BBC, GEL was just the one that was pan-org. In BBC Wales, we worked on a system in 2003.

    @jasonmesut @andybudd @nathanacurtis @clearleft But of course, modular, systemised design has been around for centuries. The biggest difference with digital systems imo is the open discourse and sharing of ideas, and rapid growth the medium allows. *That’s* where the BBC and Yahoo broke ground.
