  1. I see so many of my design peers getting chewed up and spun around in the machinery of large organisations. Shuffling from one meeting to the next. Telling themselves that design leadership is scaling design teams, org charts, managing the CEO. Where is *design* in any of that!?

      Question (of which, there is no 'it depends' answer). Who serves an org's design function better? a. An experienced and excellent designer, but mediocre manager and leader. b. A mediocre and inexperienced designer, but an excellent and experienced manager and leader.

      And, I wonder, if this whole narrative plays into the endemic insecurity of the design profession that we are serious business people. We don't just make things look nice etc etc.
