In March, last year, I felt the daily No 10 briefings were – to some degree – honest and truthful. Now, they seem overly politicised. Full of spin (see yesterday's mention of UK 'in it together' dig at SNP independence bid). Result is, unfortunately, I'm much less likely to watch

Maybe they weren't honest and truthful. Probably not. But, the communication was in stark contrast to anything seen before. Directness outside of the pomp of The House, or polished press releases. It was government on the back foot. Not now. We're back to smoke and mirrors.

So just watch today as the UK passing 100,000 almost entirely avoidable deaths is brushed aside. Sooner Westminster acknowledges we live in a society than an economy the better.
