It’d be nice to see some sort of living timeline. Like a map – through time – of a piece of work. Including discussion, rational, prototypes. Appending documents. From there, you can see what happened and when. Easier to roll back decisions if it’s visible.

We try to do this all the time with lots of tools. But more often or not, they just show you the *now* of current work and thinking. They don’t often show what it took to get there. Half the time, that’s the work.

I dunno. Seems like design documentation and critique is broken. Better tools are needed.

Don’t get me started on critique, though. If ever there was a design practice that is hard to translate to digital tooling and environment it’s this. So much is about relationship building and paying close attention to emotional, physical, cultural, and environmental factors.
