This really has to stop. Yesterday afternoon, out on a ride, I was close passed about 4 times. One van so close it clipped my elbow lightly at about 50mph (I was doing about 20). And, you know what, it’s so common place it’s normalised. I go out expecting it. @APPGCW/1372276713871278081

And that’s not mentioning the verbal abuse, the intimidating driving, and the ‘oh, sorry, I didn’t see you’ comments when being pulled out on. When I’m on a bike, I am vulnerable. After this lockdown, everyone should know what 2 metres is. Give me room to be safe.

And it’s so normalised, when I mention this to a lot of people, they say: ‘Oh, it’s your choice to ride on the roads, they are not safe’. Cycling on the roads isn’t dangerous. Road users are (and that includes some cyclists).
