    1. For years we’ve heard about designers wanting a seat at the table. But, in all those years, how many times have you heard that saying in the context of just wanting to listen?

    I’ve not heard it that often. Mostly it’s about wanting to be involved, steering the conversation, contributing to the strategy. Listening is all of those. Just listening.

      By listening – really listening – design can build empathy with parts of an organisation that it typically struggles with: sales, executives, engineering. But, as a discipline that quickly hones in on problems, be them organisational or otherwise, design tries to problem solve.
