      He defines improvisation as ‘Achieving a state of mind to recognise and exploit opportunities in the spur of the moment… without the security of pre-set protocols.’ ‘Most people improvise when things don’t go to plan and are perceived as of lesser value’. Rings bells.

        Some of the most rewarding design I’ve been part of is when pre-set protocols are loose. When there is space and trust in product teams to improvise – how he defines it – gives rise to big jumps in innovation.
