Experimenting with clamp()ing letter spacing and word spacing in addition to font size. Why? Some typefaces really need it when you increase the font size. However, sticking some maths in there isn’t enough - just got to eyeball it.

Broad rule of thumb: the larger the type, the more opportunity to decrease letter spacing and words spacing. But *be careful* – those distances have been considered by the type designer and painstakingly tested.

Worth noting that that is an issue of optical weight. Which changes depending on colour contrast and combinations. White text on black background typically has a slightly lighter optical weight than the opposite. Someone should write a book called ‘Typesetting is Fiddly’.
